TPD12S520 termination

Champs,

So if I am not using any of the low-speed signals (eg CE, DDC, HOTPLUG)- do I need to terminate them with pullups?  I realize the safe answer is yes, but if you look at the block diagram; it really does suggest that if you just GND the LV_SUPPLY and then also GND the low speed pins on both sides it would function; and obvsiously save the 8 pullup resistors you'd otherwise seen.  Can someone comment on if this is supported/possible?

  • There shouldn't be any problem with that at all! As long as you only want ESD protection on the 8 TMDS lines and don't need the level shifting or ESD protection on the low speed lines, then grounding the lines shouldn't effect any operation.

Let me know if you have any followup questions, and thanks!
