Hi E2E,

I have a customer who's looking for a high-temperature, high reliability CAN bus IC. Something like the TCAN1042 or TCAN1051 but rated for high reliability. Do we have any plans to make something like that, other than the SN65...-HT parts?

And do we have any CAN standalone controller ICs, like the MCP2515?

Hi Sam,

What temperature range is your customer looking for specifically? I am not sure what the HiRels team is at this point regarding the TCAN1042 and TCAN1051 but I can follow up with them and see if they have any plans on developing this technology.

For a comparative part to the MCP2515 you should check with the embedded teams. I do not think we have anything that competes in this space but they may have a road map part or something I am unaware of to offer.

Do you have any particular embedded contacts in mind? That's a big team.

Hi Sam,

I checked with the Hi-Rel team and there are no immediate plans to produce a Hi-Rel version of the TCAN devices. We need to follow up with them with a business case to move this device into their target area. I think we should move this offline for now so please send me an email and we can discuss further and so I can put you in contact with the right people in Hi-Rel.
