Hello,

I am looking for a chip which will work as a HDMI repeater, I came across HD3SS215 2(source):1(sink).

I have some queries about it.

1) Does HD3SS215 supports OSD ,example:Port B video overlay over Port A ?

2) Does it supports fast switch means switching time between two source as we switch from Port A to Port B.

3) Do TI provides any tools or software(source code) to configure HD3SS215.

4) Does HD3SS215 supports TTL input?

5) Does HD3SS215 supports i2c/spi?

Hi Saurabh,

HD3SS215 is not a repeater, it is just a passive switch. we have some active switched for HDMI1.4 for example TMDS261B
1) HD3SS215 only support A<->C and B<->C
2) It doesn't provide fast switching, none of our switches do. Switching time is not that long.
3) There is no software to configure it
4) HD3SS215 support Vl range is -0.1V to 0.8V, Vm range is Vdd/2 +- 300mV, Vh range is 2V to Vdd, where Vdd range is 3V to 3.6V typical 3.3V
5) It is configured by control pins

Thanks for your prompt reply.

Please suggest any TI DSP or ARM chip which can be configured over I2C/SPI, which also supports overlay & has HDMI IN/OUT.

I'm not familiar with DSP or ARM processors, our group is mainly dedicated to redriver/retimer and switches, you can ask in DSP forum for guidance.
