Hi all

I search the original binary for the TPS65982 Booster pack. I played with some FW setings around and now i want go back to initial settings.

In the Datasheet it is called "TPS65982-EVM_Flash-Image_RTM.bin".

Where can I get it?

Hi Oliver,

The file you are referring to has been updated and is now included in the TPS6598X-Config tool. If you open up the tool and select the "Device" button on the toolbar and then select "Re-Flash EVM Firmware (Recovery)" you can then select the EVM FW for either the TPS65982-EVM or the TPS65986EVM.

Where can I find the actual settings for the recovery bin file? I would like to see what the defaults are for the EVM board in this GUI:

Hi Ari,

The TPS65982-EVM base image is a custom FW image that is only used to highlight the different functions of the part on the EVM board. If you load a base configuration template using the application customization tool that best matches your application, you can then see the settings of those templates. The Base EVM FW will have similar settings to the templates.

Hi,

Do you have a template project file for the eval board? There are a myriad of differences between the stock and EVM settings. For example, this is just one page:

I can query each register but that is really tedious and time consuming. I would like to get the exact settings that were build for the EVM. Would you be able to provide that?

Just to clarify: I want to rebuild an exact copy of the EVM image using TI Snapshot except I would like to change a PDO register value. Are there any sample templates that are EXACTLY the same as the EVM bin file?

Hi Ari,

The base EVM FW is a custom image meant to only be used on our EVM. The configurations change with each S1 switch setting. The EVM image is only meant to be used for a quick evaluation of the part in multiple configurations.
With that said, which switch setting are you using on your TPS65982-EVM? With that information, you can look in the EVM users guide (www.ti.com/.../slvuaf8c.pdf) and see if there is a template available that matches that use case.

Hi Eric,

Exactly - I am looking for the "lookup table" that converts the DIP switch setting to the template filename. Right now it just gives me a description and so do the templates in the configuration software. Could you please provide me with that lookup table?
