About DP83848C communicate

Hi Expert.

My customer considering this product.

I have  two questions.

Question1.

Is this product capable of conecting server communication with IPv6?

Question2.

Is this product capable of multicast communication by MLDv2 communication?

Please give me advice.

    Hi Noriaki,

    IPv6 is a change in the definition of the IP frame that rides inside of the Ethernet telegram. A special requirement of IPv6 is support of jumbo frames. The DP83848 can support jumbo frames to 25kbytes. See the thread here: e2e.ti.com/.../447226

    MLDv2 is a function of IPv6 and is in higher layers. This is not dependent on the PHY.

    The DP83848 can support IPv6 traffic as IPv6 is independent of the PHY layer.

    My customer were able to understand DP83848C can support  Jumbo frames to 25Kbytes.

    I will answer to my customer to use this product.
