Hi Team,
customer is designed DS34RT5110 on their docking board to support the 4K2K/30hz output, they feedback that the DS34RT5110 can only output the 4K2K/30hz resolution in BYPASS mode, when they set the device to normal mode, the 4K2K/30hz output is failed. Please advise how to resolve this issue to enable the DS34RT5110 in normal mode to output 4K2K/30hz. Thanks.
Regards,
Arthur
Hi Arthur,
The DS34RT5110 is not recommended for 4K2K design as a retimer. It can only be used in BYPASS mode as an HDMI cable equalizer up to 2.97 Gbps per data lane (4K2K/30Hz operation). Please see a similar E2E post here: e2e.ti.com/.../346858
If you are in search of a retimer that supports the retiming function for 4K2K/30Hz, I recommend looking at the TMDS181, which is an HDMI retimer that can be used for up to 4K2K/60Hz operation.

Michael
