Is the TPS2549 will cover same amount of USB device as the TPS2546?

The TPS2549 do not indicate it is compatible to the Divider Modes 2V/2.7V and 2.7V/2V. Also the TPS2549 by the block diagram the auto-detection is limited to the "DCP" but the TPS2546 is also applicable to the Divider Mode, I need to be sure the TPS2549 will do the exact same auto-detection as the TPS2546, please advise?

Note; I think by what I could understand the TPS2549 do not acknowledge USB device on the 2V mode, I could not find this information in the parameter, it is clearly indicated in the TPS2546, my question is the following; is the 2V mode USB device will charge as their maximum with the TPS2549?

Generally speaking a newer device like TPS2549 will support a higher number of new as well as older model portable devices than an older device like TPS2546.

Dear Eric,

Very good, is someone could indicate where I could find technical information to be sure we will select the best USB controller IC such a way to have an universal USB charger compatible with most of the USB device on the market today and for the old one.

Does TI have a device compatibility list for the TPS2549, TPS2546, and TPS2540?

We are starting a new design. Do you have data on the long term availability of the TPS2540 and TPS2549?
