Hi Sir,

Customer feedback that the TPS65981 I2C address is always 0x7E.

No matter how customer change the TPS65981 DEBUG_CTL1, DEBUG_CTL2 pin voltage. The address is still 0x7E.

Can you comment the I2C address for this?

I would like to know as well. The documentation says that the following pins are involved: DEBUG_CTL1, DEBUG_CTL2, and I2C_ADDR. The documentation also says that there are some register bits that can be configured to change the interpretation of these pins.

The Host Interface Manual says these register bits are called "OneCallI2COTPBits" and that they "Sets portion of PD Controller I2C address, as detailed above". However, I couldn't actually find a description of them anywhere in the document.

Nope. There is no I2C_ADDR pin on the '81. I'm not sure how to configure it.

It appears as though this should be documented with the OTP bits in the Host Interface Manual, but no OTP bits are defined.

Hi SHH,

I2C address of TPS65981 can be controlled using DEBUG_CTL1, DEBUG_CTL2 pins. This control is enabled in the production samples of TPS65981 and customers can order on TI.com.

Note that TPS65981EVM uses prototype samples and I2C address is fixed to 0x7F on the EVMs.
