Hi,

i have two independent questions:

1) Is it possible to Transmit a 12bit monochrom Video via DS90UB925Q-Q1?
I can't find wether or not the DS90UB925Q-Q1 watches the timings on the data input pins.

2) Which element determines the max. possible power to transmit over coax and is it critical to transmit about 3W?
If i got it right the maximal power depends on the saturation current of the inductors. Therfore its not an issue to transmit about 10 Watt at 12 V.

Hi Erwin,

1) The video input pins of 925 are sampled once per clock cycle, so you can use however many of the 24 that you need. If you only need 12, that is fine. For the sync signals, these are limited to a certain number of transitions per PCLK cycles. Refer to section 7.2.5 of the DS90UB925 datasheet http://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/ds90ub925q-q1.pdf

2) The DS90UB92x family of products does not support power-over-coax (and in particular, the DS90UB925 does not support coax). For the products that do support power-over-coax (DS90UB913A/914A for example), the power delivery is in the range of 1W.
