TPS65983: TPS65983 OC issue on 15V3A application

Hi all,

My customer use TPS65983 in dock application. They use PPHV to output 9V3A, 12V3A and 15V3A. 9V and 12V is fine, but in 15V application, TPS65983 can't clamp current and The device is burned out when the output current is around 3.6A (tested by e-load OCP function). We use TPS65983 EVM and it's burned too. Please help to check why we can't clamp current to prevent burn out question? Customer test 9V3A and 12V3A and they can clamp current in around 3.3A. Thanks for your kindly help.

Hi all,
Due to strange current set issue on TPS65983_Intel_Apex_Creek_CH_SPMxxxx.tpl /GUI V2.12.1, my customer need to use GUI 2.10 on their product. Do you have any update FW for solving OC issue on PDO 15V? Thanks for your kindly help.

Hi Gary,

Do you mean OCP setting for 15V PDO works correctly in GUI v2.10 but it is not working when you use GUI v2.12.1?

Hi Atiq,
1. 15V/3A PDO has OCP failed issue on GUI 2.10
2. I can't set PDO's current on GUI 2.12/2.12.1/2.14 on apex_Creek_CH_SPM_100W(75W)xxxxx.tpl. But I don't modify those value through register directly.
