SN75DP139: IC control related(How to use)

1) I have sent reference schematic by email

2) There is no short explanation on how DP source provides power there are several sections in the specification. However, the upstream device pin must be in the range of 2.89V to 3.6V(3.3V +/- 10% less fuse voltage drop = 0.076V) and it must provide 1.5W

3) DP139 just have a DDC buffer, so, if any resolution is not listed it is a problem between DP source and DP sink.

     Can you see any other resolutions listed? If you provide monitor and GPU models, I can help to check.

4) I don't really understand this point, did you find a reference schematic on the internet? What do you mean we need a solution?

5) DP139 doesn't require a firmware, it should work by default.

Could you provide your schematic for review?

Hi Justin,

DP139 is a level shifter from DP++ to HDMI, not a DP to HDMI protocol converter.

So, the output of DP139 shouldn't have AC caps, if you are looking for a DP redriver you may take a look at DP130 or TUSB546-DCI

DP++ to HDMI level shifters are placed on source applications or dongles, not on sink applications.

I couldn't find RTD2281 datasheet, but for the naming, I guess it has an HDMI/DVI input, the applications may work but only with DP++ capable sources, and you would have to assert CAD signal high in DP connector, you would need to remove AC caps at DP139 output and finally this won't be a standard application.

So, what you really need? a DP redriver? a DP++ to HDMI level shifter? a DP to HDMI protocol converter? an HDMI redriver?
