DP83848Q-Q1: Leakage current on Reset pin

Hi,

How shall I understand the leakage current mentioned in the electrical DC characteristics @ the RESET pinout ? For me, this value are not applicable in these inputs as there are internal pull up resistors. If you can please explain in this case

Hi Mohamed,

The current you are seeing is the max through the CMOS gates.
It does not include the pulls on the pins.

The internal pull-up resistance for the 848Q is 25k ohm.
The internal pull-down resistance for the 848Q is 29k ohm.

Does it mean that we need to add the leakage current + the current flowing into the internal pulls of the 848Q ?

Hi Mohamed,

You are correct that if you want to calculate the total current from the supply rail you would need to include the pulls.
However, these lines are generally not always static so there will be variation depending on the pull configuration of the pin and the state of the IO.
