TPS2549-Q1: Why USB high speed device is not detecting on SDP mode of TPS2549-Q1

Part Number: TPS2549-Q1

Hi All,

We are using TPS2549-Q1 chip on one of our product for SDP & DCP modes of operation. not using cable compensation features as of now..

Why USB high speed device (Pendrive) is not detecting on SDP mode??? Only low speed devices are detecting now (Mouse & Keyboard) & Also works fine in DCP mode also.

Kindly suggest your valuable feedback on this, in case if we missed out anything.

Thanks

Ananth PN

  • Do you mean that the USB host cannot connect to the HS device through TPS2549Q1 in SDP mode? Can you try this same test using the TI EVM?
  • right now, we are using Standard SDP port in our main circuit DM_OUT,DP_OUT is connected to soc , DP_IN,DM_IN is connected to usb connector. in this mode usb is not working .. (wheather we need to change the Device Functional Modes to work ,A USB 2.0 SDP supplies a minimum of 500 mA per port and supports USB 2.0 communications,)
    CTL1=0
    CTL2=1
    CTL3=x.
  • Hi Eric wright & all,

    In addition to Anantha's query,

    Since we are using in Standard SDP port on our board, as per Device Functional Modes we selected as follows
    CTL1 =0
    CTL2 =1
    CTL3=x,
    in this modes only mouse, keyboard and usb trackpad works, but usb2.0 Pendrive is not working, or wheather we need to change Device Functional Modes.
    As per USB 2.0 spec, SDP supplies a minimum of 500 mA per port and supports USB 2.0 communications

    with Regards
