DP83849I: DP83849 C or I: which ID2 should I expect?

Part Number: DP83849I
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DP83849C

Hi all, on my board I have the PHY DP83849I, which I want to use taking advantage of the "ring mode", configuring the port B to directly transmit what is received on port A.

My question is: the part on the board is marked 4AZCPR7G3 - DP83849IVS.

If I read the IDR2 register I get 0x5CA2, and this, accordind to the datasheets, should identify the DP83849C part instead; but the mounted device is really marked DP83849I (which should have IDR2 = 0x5C90).

Of course the "ring" mode, which is documented only in the DP83849I datasheet (not in the DP83849C) and that is configured programming the RBR register, is working correctly.

It's simply a mistake in the documentation?

thank you

Alberto
