DP83848K: Asking for DP83848K not stable for 100m issue

Part Number: DP83848K

Hi Team,

Customer use the DP83848K. they test 10meter is good, however, it is not stable on 100meter.
Customer use iPerf to test, the upload speed can achieve higher than 50Mb/s.
The download speed for 100meter cable is less than 1Mb/s.
Do you have any suggestion to check this issues?

    Hello SHH,

    Communication problems over long cable reach may be caused due to signal integrity issues at system level. Is the far end link partner also DP83848K? In some cases far end link partner might have some signal integrity issues which affect the overall performance of the network.

    I would recommend checking if the magnetics and crystal are as per the design requirement for the PHY. Also, check if recommended layout practices have been followed in design the DP83848K board. Please use the Design and Layout guide for reference: www.ti.com/.../snla079d.pdf

    In case the link partner is not DP83848K, please check with DP83848K as link partner.
