TUSB4041PAPEVM: Serial termination and strapping resistors not included in the design for USB upstream and downstream ports ?

Part Number: TUSB4041PAPEVM

I can not find any serial termination and strapping resistors on the evaluation board.

  • Hello,
The series resistors, edge control capacitors and pull-downs on the DP/DM lines are internal in the hub.

  • Hello,

    Thank you for answering.

Where can I find information and values for internal components related to the DP/DM lines in the hub ? I can not find any information about that these components are internal in the hub in the datasheet. Do you have any separate application notice or other documentation ?

Downstream ports: series resistors, edge Control capacitors and pull-down resistors (15kOhm ??) are internal in the hub

Upstream port: What about internal components for this port ? I assume you don´t have pull-down resistor for the DP/DM lines for the upstream ? I beleive that the hub have series resistors, edge Control capacitors and possibility to signalling data rate by internal 1.5kOhm resistor that can be enabled or disabled.  Because according to USB specification you should use a pull up resistor attached to D+ to specify itself as a full speed device, or pull up resistor attached to D- to specify itself as a low speed device. High speed devices will start by connecting as a full speed device (1.5k to 3.3V). Once it has been attached, it will do a high speed chirp during reset and establish a high speed connection if the hub supports it. If the device operates in high speed mode, then the pull up resistor is removed to balance the line.

Are these pull-up  resistor (1.5kOhm ??) for the upstream port internal in the hub ?, and can resistor be turned on and off under firmware control, without requiring an external resistor ?
