MAX3243: Could we apply a RS232 level on RINx pin (RS232 line data input) when the IC is not powered (VCC=0).

Hello,

In a project i want to use MAX3243 IC. In particular situation, MAX3243 is not powered, whereas RS232 signals are present (imposed by a RS232 peripheral).

So I have 2 questions:

Could we apply a RS232 level on RINx pin (RS232 line data input) when the IC is not powered (VCC=0).

When Vcc=0V, what is input impedance of RINx pin?

Sylvain,

All RS-232 devices accept voltage on RIN when the RS-232 device is unpowered.
Input impedance of RIN is typically 5,000 ohms to ground. Same as power on.
