SN65DP141: Is SN65DP141 able to support DP1.4

Hi team,

One of the customers wants to know whether or not SN65DP141 is able to support DP1.4. I got confused from the datasheet and the product slide. The datasheet says the IC can support DP 1.3. However, the product slide shows the IC can support DP1.4. which one is correct? If DP141 is not able to support DP1.4, do you have any recommendation on DP1.4 redriver? Thanks for your support and time.

Hi Leroy,

The difference between DP1.3 and DP1.4 is not at the physical layer, our devices only deal with the physical layer.

Both DP1.3 and DP1.4 have the maximum data rate of 8.1Gbps, DP1.4 introduced the option for encrypted video with the same data rate.

So, DP141 supports DP1.4 too, however, we recommend to use TUSB546-DCI, please take a look at it and look at the application note TUSB546-DCI as DisplayPort redriver.

Hi Moises,

Thanks for the prompt response. I have another question regarding to DP to HDMI. I know that we don't have the IC that can translate DP1.2/1.4 to HDMI2.0 (please correct me if I am wrong), do we have any cascading solution for that? Thanks for your support and time!!

Hi Leroy,

We don't have active conversion solution from DP to HDMI, not even two-chip solutions; We just have the DP++ to HDMI/DVI level shifters.

Regarding DVI/HDMI(no sound) to LVDS solution involving two chips is this one:
