Hi Team,

customer is query if it is ok to route the DP159 differential signals to the HDMI connector that through between pin to pin of connector? Attached is the PCB layout example, please comments if any concerns on this differential trace routing? Thanks.

    Hi Arthur,

    It seems this is the only way to route this signal, there will be some impedance differences from the connector and it will stabilize when the differential pair gets closer.
    There are compliance testing that measure differential impedance, but we doný know the effect until it is measured.
    Besides for trhu-hole pins the routing has to be donde in the oposite layer of the connector to avoid excesive stub from the thru-hole pins.
    It would be better is custoemr could switch to a connector with surface mount pins, those conenctor are friendlier with signal integrity.
