TUSB522P: TUSB522P: pullup resistor on EN_RXD

Part Number: TUSB522P
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN65LVPE502A,

Hello,

I need to replace a SN65LVPE502A with a TUSB522P on a board already in production. On that board, pin 5 (EN_RXD) is tied to 3.3V. TUSB522P datasheet suggest a 4.7 kOhm pullup on it (besides an active signal drive, which is not my case). Since EN_RXD is also a reset signal, is that resistor absolutely required, for example to introduce a reset delay at Vcc startup, or is the direct Vcc tie admissible also without a pullup?

Thanks

Luca
