Hi all,

I'm having some issues with the TPS65982evm.

Indeed I'm using one as source and the other one as sink.

The source is configured to transmit the following source capabilities:

5v 3A and 9V 3A (is it allowed on the TPS?) for test puroposes.

The sink is configured to Tx the following sink capabilities:

5V 3A 9V 3A 12v3A...

When I connect the sink to the source, it doesn't work.

Indeed Vbus keeps crashing.

Is it due to the fact that the 9V contract i'm trying to force on the source, can't be delivered by it so the sink crashes?

I attached the registers "sink and source capabilities" from both .

Hi Daniel,

In your configuration under the Source Capabilities, change the PP Switch for PDO2 to the external HV path.
The TPS65982 can source up to 20V PD contracts on the external power path. 9V should be no issue.

Unfortunately VBUS keeps crashing with or without this modification :(

Hi Daniel,

I apologize but I just realized my first answer was completely incorrect. The TPS65982 EVM does not have a 9V regulator on it and will thus never be able to source 9V. The EVM can only source 5V or 20V. You would need to have a 9V regulator to source 9V. I hope this clears up the issue.

Eric,
Oh all right, so all the voltages apart of 5 12 and 20V won't work on the EVM.
That's why i asked if it's allowed on the TPS, but i should have written if it's allowed on the EVM :)
So there is no easy way to verify "exotic" voltages negotiations such as 14V and so on?
Anyway thanks for your answer, it helps me a lot.
