TPS65982: ExternallyPowered (bit:2) of Control Configuration Register (0x29)

Hi Team,

My customer considers to use TPS65982 for DFP (souce only) application.

Should I set ExternallyPowered=1b for this case?
I would like to know what is concern If I set 0b.

    Hi Yaita,

    The externally powered bit will allow you to go into higher PD contracts automatically. However, if you leave it set to 0b you can still go into higher PDOs by setting Barrel Jack Detect to a GPIO. Barrel Jack Detect will automatically set the externally powered bit to 1b when you plug in an external power source. The device will then attempt to negotiate a higher PD contract.
