TPS65982: USBPath (bit 2:1) of System Configuration Register (0x28)

Hi Team,

Application customization tool shows the following to enable RP and EP.
It shows it is possible to enable both RP and EP.

On the other hand, it is impossible to enable both RP and EP according to "Host Interface Technical Reference Manual" (page.22).

Does USBPath [2:1]=11b enables both RP and EP? (typo?)

Hello Yaita,

Yes, you can enable both USB RP and USB EP on the TPS65982. The document is being updated and will reflect this edit. USBPath [2:1]=11b enables both RP and EP.

Thank you for your reply. I understood.

My customer uses TPS65982_Intel_AIC_2_12.tpl in application customization tool, it seems default value of USB RP and USB EP are both enabled.
Should these bit be left enabled as default?
It is ashamed to say I can't understand these feature in detail.
Is there any description / explanation in application note?

Is there any concern if "USB EP" is disabled?
The background of the question is my customer disabled "USB EP" in previous model because it is defalut value of configuration tool at that time.
*He designed TPS65982 with Alpine Ridge for note PC application.
