Hello,

I have a question in regarding to the reference clock for DS110DF111.

I have to used more than one DS110DF111 on my design.

Can I use 1 oscillator 25-MHz for two or three DS110DF111 at a time...?

Hi Kevin,

Yes it is possible. I would use a simple IBIS simulation to determine how to route multiple clock lines and terminate them to ensure best signal integrity at each DF111 REFCLK input.

Hi Lee,

Q1 - At the moment, we think we will need about 30 DS110DF111 on our board.

how many DS110DF111 can we connect to 1 oscillator 25MHz...?
Have you seen anyone done it before...?

Q2 - Are there other parts you can recommend...?
Small package, more than two channels.

With so many devices to connect I would into fanout devices to drive the DF111 inputs independently

There are other retimers with a higher level of integration like the DS125DF1610 which include 16 channels. This would cut down the number of retimers by a factor of 8.
