TUSB3410: The USB-RS232 (hopefully) device sends wrong characters (i.e. Enter becomes "y", etc. Receiving is OK.

Part Number: TUSB3410

Hello dear TI forum members,

I have several USB data cables (as marked on the USB jack) with TUSB3410 inside.

Having tried different drivers on XP x86 and Windows 7 x64, the device works not the way it is supposed to (as I think).

All I need is to use it as a simple USB-RS232 bridge to communicate with Cisco, Dlink eqiopment through 9-pin DB9M jack. Now, when I go to the terminal program and connect pins 2 and 3 together (meaning that RX goes to TX) - all other (not TI) products give me echo just as I emter, but the TUSB3410 data cable gives "y" when I press Enter key, and M when I press not M but another letter, etc.

Amaizingly, being connected to console port of the swiitch, it receives good strings, so receiving is OK.

The only umpf3410.i51  file to put into my c:\windows\system32\drivers folder is 14336 bytes long, and when I put it to the folder (the initial driver does not)  and reconnect the data cable - the terminal program can not open comm port at all/

I probably need another umpf3410.i51 firmware file from the TI team. Could you send me one?

Thanks.
