TPS65982: mode switching issue during in Docking application

Part Number: TPS65982

Hi,

My customer found some issue for the TPS65982 in docking application during plugging and unplugging the adapter.

Test condition:

1. Firstly, unplug the adapter, the docking work normal.

2. Then, Plug the adapter, the docking work normal, can support the charging for the end equipment.

3.  Then, unplug the adapter, the docking can't work. Can't get the 5V VBUS from host side. (We used the other docking from other supplier, it can work at this condition, so there is no problem for the host)

4. Then, plug the adapter again, the docking work normal, can charging.

We check the sink capability setting, there is no problem as following pic. The detail setting as in the file.

We also test the voltage for the CC, as followed:

1. Firstly, when Docking connect with the PC, unplug the adapter, the CC voltage: one is 0V, another is 1.7V. Docking work normal.

2. Then, plug the adapter, one is 5V, another is 1.7V. Docking work normal.

3. Then, unplug the adapter, one is 0V, another is 1.7V. There is no 5V at the VBUS. Docking can't work.

Customer tested the CC votage with the docking from other supplier. For the CC voltage, one is 5V, another is 1.7V, at the first step.

It looks we should not have right setting for the TPS65982, could you help check it? Thanks a lot!
