TFP401: Unused QE pin and how to usage of CTLx pin

Part Number: TFP401

Hi Team,

My customer is considering to use TFP401 for HDMI to LVCMOS.

Q1. His application is RGB 18bit,  he does not use six QE pins.

Which is better, GND, or Open?

Q2. How to usage CTLx?

Please teach me usage example of CTLx pin .

Regards,

Ogasawara

  • Hello,
Q1. Do not left unused pins floating, you can connect them to GND.
Q2. CTLx signals are used by your graphics processor to send additional information during the blanking periods, the TFP401 will de-serialize this data and output at the CTLx pins, I suggest you to connect the CTLx outputs to your RGB receiver, if your RGB receiver does not support CTLx then you can leave them floating.
