XIO2001: PCIe Test Mode Support

Part Number: XIO2001

Posting for a customer:

I’m using the XIO2001 and we have some questions regarding the devices test support.  We want to do in-circuit PCIe test verification and this requires support on the PCIe endpoint device.

For the receiver testing, does the XIO2001 support training into the loopback state as a slave per the PCI spec?  I have PCI Base Spec 2.1 and the Link Training / Initialization is shown in section 4.2.4 (TS1 and TS2 training ordered set).  Section 4.2.5.10 also provides info on the loopback mode.  Also, is there any way via S/W controllable register settings to force the loopback?

For the transmitter testing, will the device automatically go into the TX Compliance mode if it detects a 50 Ohm load on the bus but doesn’t train up into L0?  For TX preset tests, does the device cycle through the different speeds and presets by toggling a pulse on the reference clock input?

If the XIO2001 device doesn’t support the above, does TI provide any other solutions in a redriver or other PCIe-PCI bridge device the supports these testing modes?

Thank you!
