TCA9544A: The communication flow

Part Number: TCA9544A

Hello ,

Regarding to the communication flow on TCA9544A, my customer is asking a question.

(Question)

I couldn’t find out its flow on datasheet. My understanding(the following) is correct?

(1)I2C write

a) Send write control register(below) to TCA9544A from master.

b) When a channel is selected, the channel becomes active after a stop condition has been placed on the I2C bus.

This ensures that all SCn/SDn lines are in a high state when the channel is made active.

c) Communicate to slave device on selected channel from master.(I2C write data)

d) If it needs to change other channel, the channel selection bit is set again.

And send write control register to TCA9544A from master again.

(2) I2C Read

a) Before read mode, it needs communication as write mode flow(above) to configure channel.

b) Communicate between slave device on selected channel and master.(I2C read data)

c) If it needs channel status at that time,

Send slave address(below) to TCA9544A from master.

And read control register to master from TCA9544A.(channel status)
