PCA9545A: About Power on reset errata:Is 5ms power satisfied requirement of POR?

Part Number: PCA9545A
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TCA9545A

Our system design as below:

When I2C commit fail ,we will send 9 clk,if I2C commit not recovery, then we will power off PCA9545 and the Peripheral device 5ms,then power on.

repeat until I2C commit recovery .

question:

1,Is 5ms power satisfied requirement of  POR?,

2,Can repeat power off 5ms recover PCA9545 to normal state?

thanks.

  • Hello,

We recommend that the PCA9545A's VCC rail be held at 0 V for at least 100 ms for the device's power-on-reset to function properly. There are some more details around this requirement given in Section 11.1 of the device datasheet. Alternatively, you may want to consider the TCA9545A device instead. It has the same pin-out and functionality but with fewer restrictions related to the power-on-reset function.
