HELLO, can anyone please confirm me what is the maximum current consumption of the part HD3SS3220 and under which conditions?

Hello,

This data is already in the datasheet, IACTIVE MAX = 0.9mA. and typically is under the maximum recommended operating conditions VCC33=4V, VDD5=6V & max TA, with the mux active, signaling 3A & VCONN active.

thanks i just wanted to confirm the same although i saw 0.9mA value but i also saw some other cases like the below, when are these applicable ?

VCONN current limit. VCONN will be (VCONN) disconnected above this value where the current consumptions goes above 300mA

also what is the standard of differential signaling at TXP,RXP pin 6,7 and other differntial input and outputs, is it LVDS?

how is the MUX working here , i mean we have so many X,RX lines coming out of the MUX?

You are correct, the 9.9 is without VCONN. You only have to add the VCONN current since it is only a switch activating the 375 mA max. This mux was designed to work with USB3.1 GEN2 signals. It connects the TXp/n with the TX1p/n or TX2p/n (the same for the RX pins), depending on the detected CC connection (you can use the DIR pin for debugging purposes, it reflects the status of the CC connection).

thanks , but just to clarify you mean that in no load condition the current consumption is 0.9mA ? so when is that i will have to add the current due to VCONN? when is this switch getting activated?

I meant that the HD3SS3220 has detected an Rd load, but not the Ra. The detection of a Ra load will activate the VCONN switch, so the 0.9mA is the maximum current consumption when the device is active and it has a USB3 UFP device connected using a passive cable (No Ra detection).

The HD3SS3220 is a passive switch and it will handle any signal that meets the recommended operating conditions ( V(diff), V(cm) and 10Gbps(5Ghz) ).
