TMDS181: IBIS-AMI Simulation

Hello Team,

Please allow me to ask you about TMDS181 IBIS-AMI simulation.

Q1). Is there a model which can enable De/Pre-Emphasis function of TMDS181 ?  Current IBIS-AMI model could simulate without Emphasis function.
Please tell us how we can do this if it is already available.

Q2). Is package model available ? It seems it is not included in the current model.
Please tell us the model name if it is already available in the current model.

Q3). We would like you to check the customer output waveform simulation result. One of the result differs from others. 

Could you please send me an email to following email address so that I could share the simulation result ?

    Q1) Unfortunately, the De/Pre-emphasis function is not incorporated into the model.
    Q2) No, the package model is not available.
    Q3) That seems odd to us as well. The characteristic of 6 Gbps with slew_cntrl:0 should be similar to other setting cases (slew_ctr: 1 and 2). I’ve run some simulations myself but could NOT duplicate what you reported. Can you please double check your simulation set up to make sure everything is same except for slew_ctr bit?

    Unfortunately, the model was based on the simulated data. We have no correlation result with the lab measurement.

    Thank you for your continuous support. I understood that TI can simulate correctly.

    I have two questions.

    Q1).  Could you please show us the ADS simulation schematic, so that customer could try exact the same simulation ?

    Q2).  Could you please double check if this model is correct ? Customer says that "tx_hf_fe_termination.s4p" model seems to has wrong characteristic.I am attaching the file.

    The eLab was able to reproduce the customer issue and found the termination model tx_hf_fe_termination.s4p as the root cause. We owe the customer an apology for that. The advice for the customer is to use the tx_hf_me_termination.s4p model which should have similar characteristics as correct tx_hf_fe_termination.s4p.

    Please advise us in detail how we can simulate high frequency/high edge characteristic ?

    We had tried simulating your ads file, however, due to lack of "4mil_8inch.s4p" information, we could not simulate the result based on your ADS schematic.

    Can you double check if the file includes all the models ?
