TPD4S009: Vcc connected to GND?

Hello,

My customer is looking for a cross to the IP4283CZ10-TT in TSSOP package. TPD4S009 looks like a fit, but his board has pin 8 (Vcc) connected to GND.

Will the part function correctly with Vcc tied to GND? This clearly violates the ABS ratings in the datasheet, but other sections of the datasheet imply this pin is optional and can be left floating (and hopefully tied to GND as well)

There should not be an issue with this pin going to GND. There is an internal diode for the VCC line that has a higher breakdown voltage than the internal Zener diode, so any ESD seen on the D+, D- lines would still go through the Zener to the pin 3 GND. I hope this helps!
