SN75DP130: What different between DP130 and DP139

Part Number: SN75DP130

Hi Sirs,

Sorry to bother you.

We survey DP re-driver which support DP++ function.

We saw DP130 and DP139.

Looks DP139 include HDMI level shift, DP130 didn't.

But DP130 also support DP++?? It's mean if you need use DP130 in HDMI, you need discrete level shift circuit?

And DP139 looks only support DP++, not for DP??

It's confuse us, so we would like to know what different between them, Thanks for your reply.

  • Hi Shu-Cheng,

DP130 supports DP++, this means it can handle AC coupled signals with HDMI data rates and one clock lanes with frequency 1/10 of data rate.
DP139 is a level shifter from DP++ to HDMI, this means it receives HDMI AC coupled signals and level shift them to HDMI levels.

DP139 is not a protocol converter(We don't have any), that's why it support DP++ not DP.
DP130 is just a redriver, it doesn't include a level shifter
There is no need to use DP130 and DP139 together, DP139 has EQ capabilities too. It may be possible if the input path is very long, this is application dependant.
