TPS2546: USB pop-up massage

Team,

I am using TPS2546 as USB controller.

when I insert a USB cable, there will pop-up a massage like following.

Do you have any idea that I can set anything not to shoe this message??

Hi Marco,
It looks like the TPS2546 is in a data transfer mode like CDP or SDP (assuming the phone detected this). You can change the mode to a non-data mode like DCP or DCP auto (see truth table in the datasheet for how to configure the CTLx pins.

Hi Marco,

what's your using case ? do you need data + power or you just need to provide power to the phones ?

if you just need to provide power to the phones, just configure the TPS2546 to DCP_AUTO mode (CTL=0, CTL2=CTL3=ILIM_SEL=1).

Gentleman,

just want to make sure that when operate in DCP-Auto, D+/D- detect still can work even data is not function.
After start up detect, any status change on CTL1, CTL2, CTL3, and ILIM_SEL will not work??

Hi Marco,

1. in DCP_AUTO mode, TPS2546 can make smartphones fast charged, but please note that, smartphones cannot communicate with host MCU.
2. TPS2546's operating mode is determined by CTL1, CTL2, CTL3 and ILIM_SEL. if you change the pins' voltage level any time, TPS2546 will change operating mode.

Hi Yongqiang,

We've tried DCP_AUTO mode (CTL=0, CTL2=CTL3=ILIM_SEL=1) and success to prevent pop up window for Andriod platform.

But for Iphone platfrom still pop up window as following picture, may I learn from you how to fix it? thanks.

it's because your cable is not an original apple cable, please use an real apple cable.
