TPS65982: SPI Flash Issue- Invalid Region

Hi Team,

We are tying to flash our config tool generated binary onto external SPI Flash for the TPS65982 using the Host Interface tool GUI.

When the SPI FW Update is complete, we get an error that validation of flash has failed.

The device goes into BOOT mode upon powerup instead of APP mode like it did on a previous spin of the board.

Here are of some of the boot flags:

Region0- True

Region1-True

Region0Invalid-True

Region1Invalid-True

Region0CRCFail-False

Region1CRCFail-False

Any idea what's going on here? What does invalid region mean?

Programming via Host Interface FW Update (i2c) completes without issues, but gives us the same boot errors.

Can you confirm which SPI Flash chip you are using?

Hi Eric,

We are using a Winbond W25Q80. Probing the pins confirms that the clock is toggling and data is being written during the SPI flash update
