TUSB542: position of AC coupling cap

Hi

I have a question about the point of AC coupling capacitor between TSUB542 and USB connector.

I  found that capacitor(C1~C6) on the TUSB542EVM. There are mounted on the middle of TSUB542 and the connector.

Where should we put the capacitor? Is that the middle position or connector side, or close of the device?
