TCA9545A: Address 0x70 can't control to switch CH1/2/3

Part Number: TCA9545A

Hi E2E,

Our customer is using TCA9545A in their system and suffering a weird issue.

They are using TCA 9545A for I2C mux and the I2C address set to 0x70.

They have issue to switch channel to channel 1, channel 2 and channel 3.  They don’t have problem to switch channel to channel 0.

Suppose, channel 0 read back 0x1, channel 1 read back 0x2 , channel 2 read back 0x4 and channel 3 read back 0x8.  They only read back channel 0 result.  Other channel selection always read back 0x0.

This issue disappeared when they changed the I2C address to other than 0x70.  It working on 0x71 and 0x73.

Do you have any notice about this?

BR,

Jason

  • Hello Jason,
I will look into this today.

  • Hello Jason,

I was able to use the device on my EVM no problem. Can you send me a I2C tree that includes device names, I2C address, and routings. I have attached an example below:

My main concern is that you have devices that have the same address on the same nodes and it could cause programming failures. I also want to see the waveforms of the commands that include the SCL and SDA.  I want to make sure the commands look good.
