TMDS181: 4K HDMI splitter 1:2 simultaneous

Part Number: TMDS181

Hi,

I need some advice to realize a 4K HDMI splitter which shows simultaneously the same input, retrieved from an HDMI cable, to two different sinks. I understand TMDS181 is an HDMI retimer and not a switch or splitter, but here they suggest to use two TMDS181 to create two new HDMI signals.

Can someone help me to understand better how this solution should work?

Thank you very much,

  • Hi Matteo,

The post you mentions a possible solution the customer can try at its own risk.
TMDS181 is the redriver-retimer we have that can handle HDMI2.0 data rates.

Each TMDS181 would compensate for losses, jitter, and skew in input channel and create a new signal, the output signals should be identical.
You would need to connect DDC to one of the display to read the EDID

You still need to look for a way to write TMDS_CLK_RATIO for the second display.

Again, we haven't tested this application, the customer may try it at its own risk.

    Regards
