SN65LV1224B: What's the limitation of Multi-Point configuration

Part Number: SN65LV1224B

Hello. I'm Wonyoung.

I have a question about Multi-Point configuration of SN65LV1224B/1024A

Datasheet descripbe like this --> "The Serializer output can driver point to point connections or imited multipoint or multidrop backplanes"(4page, SLLS621E)

Q1. What's the meaning of limited multi-point? Are there any predictable problems with Multi-point configuration with SN65LV1024A/1224B ?

Q2. Also, Are there any limitation of Multi-point configuration with using this chips? Can you recommand multi-point purposed LVDS chips?

Q3. Can you check our LVDS configuration? We wanna make sure that this chip suitable for our configuration.

Configuration 1 (100ohm mached Line impedance)

Deserializer    Serializer    Deserializer   Deserializer   Deserializer   Deserializer   Deserializer   Deserializer

term resistor    └-----------------┴---------------┴---------------┴---------------┴---------------┴----------------┴---------------┘ term resistor

     (54ohm)                                                                         Backplane                                                                                                         (54ohm)

Configuration 2 (100ohm mached Line impedance)

serializer       Deserializer       serializer        serializer      serializer      serializer         serializer          serializer

term resistor    └-----------------┴---------------┴---------------┴---------------┴---------------┴----------------┴---------------┘ term resistor

     (54ohm)                                                                        Backplane                                                                                                            (54ohm)

Q4. Does TI support MLVDS Driver?

Best regards.
