TUSB4041I: Insertion of TUSB4041I on one USB port disables other port

Part Number: TUSB4041I

Hi,

My customer makes a USB 2.0 HUB with TUSB4041I. It seems the HUB itself can work properly. While they reported that once the HUB was inserted into one of two USB 2.0 ports, they found that another USB 2.0 port cannot work anymore though the down stream port of the HUB seems working properly. Their system is Android 5.1. Processor is intel cherry trail. What is the root cause of this problem? how to solve the problem?

This is very urgent. Could any one give me some advice a.s.a.p.?

Thank you in advance.

John

  • Hello,
Please clarify the following: are you saying that the Hub works properly in one of the Host's USB ports but it does not work when you connect it into another Host's port? If that is the case then it sound like an issue with the Host's downstream port.
Can you provide your schematic for review?
Are the two Host's USB ports close each other?
    Regards
  • No. Their host has two USB ports: USB0 and USB1. The device can work on either USB ports before the hub inserted. However, the device on USB0 cannot work anymore once the hub is inserted on USB1, while device on downstream port of the hub can work properly, and vice versa. Considering the downstream port of the hub can work proerply, I do not think it is the problem of the hub circuit. I am guessing it is the problem of the driver on system side of the host (Android 5.1).
    THank you.
