TPS65982: 2 kinds of command interface

Part Number: TPS65982

2 kinds of command registers, 0x08:Cmd1 and 0x10:Cmd2,  is in Table 1-1. Unique Address Interface Registers in Host Interface Technical Reference Manual,

These registers is described for primary command interface and secondary command interface.

What is the difference of these command interface?  How to separate the usage of these command interface?

Tamio

  • Hi Tamio,

CMD1 and CMD2 allow 4CC commands to be sent by two different I2C masters. The interface is identical between the two ports. However, CMD1 is usually used with I2C1 and CMD2 is usually used with I2C2, but they can be switched as well. Also, it is not recommended to send 2 commands simultaneously as the device can only process one at a time.

    Thank you,
    Eric
