TPS65982: Current sensing through I2C by EC

Hi Team,

Could you tell me how to read sensed current of PP_EXT using I2C from EC? My customer would like to know that to monitor the value on EC continuously.
If you have any documents, it would be helpful to explain that to the customer.

Hi Onawa-san,

I_PP_EXT can be read through the internal ADC using the ADCs 4CC command. Please refer to section 4.12.1 of the Host Interface Technical Reference Manual to read about the ADCs function: www.ti.com/.../slvuan1a.pdf
To convert the ADC decimal value to a current value in Amps, please use formula (1) in the Firmware Users's Guide: www.ti.com/.../slvuah7b.pdf
Please refer to sections 8.3.3.11 and 8.3.3.12 of the TPS65982 datasheet to ensure the external sense resistor is configured correctly for either sinking or sourcing through the external path: www.ti.com/.../tps65982.pdf
