Hello,

I'd like to extend the I2C bus using two P82B96 buffer chips.

＜Requirement＞
・I2C bus speed 　400KHz
・Between 400 MHz band radio equipment and external I2C device
・Distance 10m

Can P82B96 support this application?

Are there other recommended devices?

Hello Seishin,

Yes, this device will support your application. Table 1 shows the different speeds and distance this device can operate in. at a cable length of 25m the clock speed is 390 kHz, and at 3m the speed is 500 kHz. 10m is slightly lower than the median distance between 25m and 3m, and should be able to support 400 kHz.

We also have the P82B715 that might be of interest too. They are quite similar but do have some differences.
