TUSB551: TUSB551 eye diagram issue

Part Number: TUSB551
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TUSB55
  Hi.
I tried to measure the eye diagram by designing TUSB551,
but I can not measure it.
Is it possible to check if there is any problem in the circuit below?

  • Hi Chun,

    The application works fine?

When you try to take eye-diagram captures are you setting Rx terminations?

Scope vendors provide adapters to set this terminations.

    Regards

  • Hi. Moises Garcia

We verified the USB LINE before applying TUSB551.
A normal eye diagram was measured when TUSB55 was not applied.
TUSB551 is used to transmit the image.
The eye diagram can not be measured, but the image data is transmitted normally.
Is there any problem with the circuit attached above?
    Thanks.
    Best Regards,
    Tyler
  • Hi Tyler,

The schematic looks fine, I would like to clarify some points.

    J1 is a USB connector?

what do you mean with transmitting the image? what is the image?

If this device is connected to a Host( or Host connected to the device) does it work fine?

If you remove TUSB551 and bypass it, can you take the eye-diagram?

Does the scope have Rx terminations to do Rx testing?

    Regards

  • Hi. Moises.

    J1 is a USB connector?
    Ans> YES

what do you mean with transmitting the image? what is the image
Ans> About the operation of TUSB551, we are transmitting the image to USB3.0.
After confirming the video transmission to check the operation, the operation is normally performed.

If this device is connected to a Host( or Host connected to the device) does it work fine?
Ans> When connecting to the host, the operation is done finely.

If you remove TUSB551 and bypass it, can you take the eye-diagram?
Ans> The eye diagram is measured when the TUSB551 is removed.

Does the scope have Rx terminations to do Rx testing?
Ans> Yes ( Scope --> USB Con --> USB Redriver --> USB Hub (Host) )
If there is no TUSB551, the eye diagram is measured normally.

    Thanks.

    Regards,
    Tyler
  • Hello Tyler,

I would like to confirm that you have a fully functional port, please cheack that the attached device is connecting @ USB3 (perhaps the device is being enumerated as USB2). You can use the USB tree view software to confirm this connection.

    Regards,

    Diego.

  • Hi Diego,

First of all thank you for your reply.
USB3.0 connection confirmation will check again for the part you have guided.
I would like to first check whether there is a problem in the circuit. Can you check it out?

    Thanks.

    Regards,
    Tyler
  • Hello Tyler,

I am sorry for the delay, the schematic looks fine. no issues found.

    Regards,
    Diego
