DS90UB953-Q1: DS90UB960 setting question

Part Number: DS90UB953-Q1

1. How can we check the chip version of TI960? (by appearance? or by register setting?)

2. We got TI 960 initialization python script from customer but it seems not work so we are wondering if the initial script has any chip version dependency.

Is it possible to help review if the script has any sequence/settings issue ?

We believe it's used to work on TI EVK.

    - P960_RX0_CSI0_Enable.py

    - P960_RX3CH_CSI0_Enable.py

3. For TI960 RX3CH "Line-Concatenated Forwarding":

If any of one or two input ports are removed, can TI960 keep outputting the same combined frame size (e.g. 5760x1080p60) by replacing the missing frames with a blank screen?

  • Hi Jimmy,

The 960 is not a released part so the silicon/ EVK you or your customer has is a preliminary/ pre-release device.

If the scripts your customer used were from TI then they were designed for the EVK. If they are not working in your customer's design it's possible they have different mode strap resistors and are putting the device in a different mode, are using a different forward channel rate, or any number of setting differences could be the reason for the script not working. The scripts should be evaluated register by register so that you understand which settings are being applied. Also understand the differences between the EVK and the customer's design.

Frames cannot be injected by the deserializer. If certain frames are lost the error flags will be raised. Your SoC will have to compensate for lost data.

    Regards,
