Hello,

I have successfully used the TPS65982 to perform sourcing/sinking and PD negotiations, but I have not been able to successfully enter sleep mode.

I have been using the application configuration tool to set the sleep and power state settings, but when I flash the device and open the utilities tool program, the registers do not reflect any of the sleep settings, and I see the device constantly pulling 5.6mA.

Can someone help me with this issue? Entering sleep mode is a critical requirement for the design in order to prevent unnecessary battery drain.

Hi Rachel,

If you are reading or writing to any of the registers in sleep mode, the device will wake up and return to normal operation. The proper way to test if the device is entering sleep mode is to not send any messaging via I2C, remove all port connections, and measure the current consumed by the device.
