TUSB3410: power management on TUSB3410

Part Number: TUSB3410

Team,

Can you please help answer my customer's question:

We currently set the configuration of the device with an external EEPROM and we set the part to need 100 mA.

We are planning to change the configuration to be 500 mA.  The TUSB3410 will handle the request but the power management is handled by another

Micro that is also on the board.  Is there a way for the TUSB3410 to indicate that the change from 100 mA to 500 mA is allowed or enable it itself?

There are 4 GPIO on the TUSB 3410 but the spec sheet doesn’t include the available options.

Thanks!

  • Hello Viktorija,

Yes, in theory the TUSB3x10 EEPROM Burner would let you customize bMaxPower through the "Advanced Descriptors Editor", however the current firmware seems to be ignoring the value programmed on the EEPROM. I can provide you the firmware with bMaxPower fixed to 0xFA.

The GPIOs are not controlable with the current USB to UART firmware.

    Regards,

    Jorge
