DP83867IS: About Power Supplies connection

Part Number: DP83867IS

Hi Ti,

I am using DP83867IS. In the snla246a Troubleshooting Guide, Power supplies are tied 10uF and 10nF before 0.1uF and 1uF capasitors. Is it important part? When it is not tied, will it be problem? Part that i sad is attached below with red circle.

Hi Ayse,

We characterized the DP83867 with the capacitor configuration shown. For care in production systems, you should have all capacitors listed in the power diagram.

Does it effect operation of DP83867IS? When it is not connected, does phy work correctly?

Hello Ayse,

That would depend on how clean the supply is. Are the supplies filtered elsewhere on the system? Since this is different than the schematics used for characterization, it would be difficult to give a definite answer. This will have to be validated on the application.
