DS90UB964-Q1: FrameSync

Part Number: DS90UB964-Q1

Dear Sir

We use 2pcs DS90UB964 on the same board for 8 channel camera

If 1pcs DS90UB964 use Internal FrameSync and another DS90UB964 use external FrameSync

How could I use internal FrameSync to control external FrameSync ??

I saw 0x10 can set GPIO0 to do FrameSync output ,but I can't make sure this is correct or not ?

  • Hi Kai,

Yes, you can output the internally generated Frame Sync signal on one of the 964 devices (by setting the bits you had highlighted in your post) and send it to the second 964 for the external Frame Sync.

Note that the internally generated Frame Sync will be very deterministic to the first 4 cameras connected to the 1st 964 device.  The Frame Sync signal that is output on the GPIO and sent to the 2nd 964 has to be sampled to the Back channel frame clock adding some uncertainty.  The uncertainty (or jitter) will be on the order of the back channel frame period (30 * 1/BC_frequency).  At 2.5 Mbps back channel rate, that is approximately 12us.

    Regards,

    Davor
